What to wear this Spring, courtesy of things you forgot you owned
Outfits you can definitely recreate this season
Turns out your closet’s been hoarding good ideas while you were busy buying more pants. Consider this proof that great outfits don’t always require something new — just a fresh attitude and maybe a better belt. Play with color, clash some pattern, and add a dash of quirky accessories. Everything I pulled this week is the kind of thing you can hunt for at your neighborhood vintage shop — nothing straight-off-the-rack, everything with a wink at the trends but with none of the manufactured newness.
I found so many beautiful pieces to share. There is a *Dries skirt mentioned below that keeps taking my breath away.

Printed dresses and silk skirts with contrast accessories :) This Chloe dress hijacked my brain and became the seed for this newsletter I don’t usually do florals, but this one felt... fun? Dangerous? Like it needed an accessory intervention. When you’ve got a bold print (see: Proenza), lean into contrast — mesh, contrast piping, suede (hi, Gucci), or a surprise Prada PVC moment that makes no logical sense but all the emotional sense. Sunglasses? Smaller metal frames, unexpected colors. Basically: wear the dress, but let the accessories do something weird in a good way. More good sunwear, maybe a more modern shape in a smaller metal frame shapes that or a fun color? Yes.

Long shorts. Bermudas, pedal pushers, capris - never really left, but we’re styling them like they just reappeared in our closets. The approach? Minimal effort, maximum pairing potential. Crisp shirts, simple tanks, oversized knits — it all works.”
The black dress in Summer. I call her (me) summer goth. Think breathable cotton — like this Miu Miu number, a sweet one from Tove, Co’s always right silhouette, or any of Matteau’s perfect examples of easy black dresses (this St. Agni, too). They’re effortless alone, but also invite accessories with main-character energy.
Try a wide printed belt — worn high, mid, or low depending on the dress and your mood. Let’s also normalize using your dress as a skirt. Layer a tee over it — oversized or cropped — and suddenly it’s a two-piece. Some skirts in case you’re not into the idea of dresses as skirts - skirt, a great Matteau options. And the shoes? Think lady, not precious. Chanel mules (or Prada), Slingbacks, mules (Celine), maryjanes (also Prada). They just work. Seasonless, stylish, a little off-kilter. Just right.

The long white skirt….Everyone has one — or at least, they should. A perennial staple that somehow still feels fresh every summer. The key is giving it your own spin. I'm into it with a striped top (always works) and a red shoe for that just-bold-enough contrast. These Bottega’s? Incredible. The Ferragamo’? Yes. And the red Miu Mius — very she knows what she’s doing.
More striped tops, that will get the job done. And more white skirts from doen, Tibi, and Chloe.
Patterned pants! Chloé consistently nails this — vintage or not, but definitely collector-worthy. The prints are smart, the fits are easy, and they’re fun without trying too hard. A nice break from denim, too.
Branching out into patterns outside the jeans drawer feels like a low-stakes thrill — these pairs especially make a strong case. And don’t sleep on patterned shorts. Same energy, less fabric.
The best yet!!!!
